Dennis Wolfgang Borgwarth Family and Friends
An Eagle Scout and a Brainerd High School graduate, Dennis graduated from Brainerd Junior College before completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks as Valedictorian. Dennis began working at F.M.C., which later joined with Harsco Corporation to form United Defense, now known as British Aeronautical Engineering. Dennis enjoyed a successful 28 year career here as a Senior Staff Engineer, achieving over 16 registered patents. His highest professional honor came on December 8, 2010, in the US. Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. where Dennis was presented with the “Golden Chairman Award” for innovation in the national defense industry. In an official statement by the former Joint Chief of Staff Chairman, General John Vessey, Dennis’ accomplishments were noted by the statement; “We thank God for Dennis’s life and important work because we and our nation will be safer because of it.” In addition to being successful in traditional corporate work, Dennis entrepreneurial skills were exemplified with Hot Metal Enterprises, a firm dealing with extreme metal fabrication.
