Minnesota Darkhouse & Angling Association

Minnesota Darkhouse & Angling Association

The Minnesota Darkhouse & Angling Association is a charitable non–profit organization chartered to help protect the rights of Minnesota residents wishing to harvest Northern Pike by spearing and angling. The MDAA actively works to establish equality of spearing and angling among all resident fishing people and to promote sound conservation practices of the sport. Sixteen chapters are strategically located throughout the state. Each chapter is involved in a wide variety of projects including conservation, education, and a variety of community programs. Our State Board monitors any pending legislation which effects angling and spearing.

We are dedicated to expose people of all ages to our sport and our historical ties with this ancient tradition, to promote their participation and continuance, and to encourage the bonding that this heritage creates between our citizens and our natural resources. We are also committed to protecting and preserving our sport and historical rights for all people and for all times, while promoting the responsible use of our renewable fish resources.

Impact

“By awarding me this scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden which will allow me to focus more on my education. It truly brightens my day to know that there are people out there like you that want to help people like me succeed in life. I hope that one day I can be in the position to help students with their goals to better themselves.”
